I'm kind of new to Proxmox so excuse my beginner's question.
I have configured a proxmox machine. On the proxmox host I created a special volume that I want to use as a data storage volume (based on Intel RST RAID 1 and LVM) for all my media etc. Eventually, multiple systems will read and write to this volume.
My idea is to create a VM on the proxmox host that serves as a NFS-server. This way I can connect all other clients that need to access the data through the NFS-server.
Now I'm struggling on how I should "attach" the data storage volume to the NFS-server. I read I have at least two options and I don't know what is the most appropriate method to use or how I should configure it:
1. Add the data storage volume as extra volume like (local and local-lvm), and configure the NFS-server VM with a resource pool.
2. Passthrough, pass the data storage volume directly.
Any advice on what method to use and how to configure it is very welcome.
