Hi,
I have a VM running Rocky Linux and it was working for a while (2 years), but now it's starting to freeze with io-error. The HDD itself is getting pretty full, but in the VM where the HDD is hosting the image, there's still some space left. S.M.A.R.T. scan shows no issues. When the VM boots...
Hi,
So I can't get any internet connection after moving my hdd (that has the proxmox OS installed) into a new computer case and now I have no internet connection.
I tried editing the /etc/network/interfaces file to match the new ethernet id (enp4s0 --> enp6s0) and after rebooting, it still...
Situation
My proxmox (v. 7.1-4) was running last night and the power cutoff while it was on and VM's were running.
Problems
Upon restarting my machine, only the VM's without GPU passthrough turned on, while the VM's with GPU passthrough does not turn on. The error code related to this says...
OK, so currently I have 2 GPU's:
1 NVIDIA GTX 1070
1 AMD Ryzen 5700G (APU w/ integrated graphics).
*** I want to be able to pass the integrated graphics from the AMD CPU to a VM so that VM has access to hardware acceleration. ***
The NVIDIA GPU is already being passed through to another...
Hi,
I currently have a VM with its storage attached to one HDD. It's now running out of space.
I would like to add another HDD, so how can I expand the VM to have it's storage across these two HDDs?
Thanks!
Just had a power outage on my server, and now I can't login via the GUI after machine reboot.
I keep getting the `Login failed. Please try again` message. I've tried both `Linux PAM standard authentication` and `Proxmox VE authentication server` login methods.
I can still login via SSH though...
[SOLUTION] So I re-created the VM from scratch using those machine config values below right away, and it seems to have worked! Whereas the error below occured because I originally created the Windows VM as usual (using seaBios, KVM CPU etc...) and then I tried changing those to the values...
[SOLVED]: Thanks to @avw:
Updating the /etc/network/interface network device to match the system, I'm finally able to get internet connection again and access the web GUI interface!
[HALF-SOLVED UPDATE 1]: I've updated my UEFI settings in IO Ports --> Integrated Graphics: Forces, and Initial...
Since windows 10 home disabled RDP :'( i was wondering how else to get smooth gaming performance inside the windows VM.
By adding a GPU to the VM, would that increase the FPS connection for smoother gaming?
What other remote desktop protocols is best for gaming from a linux host to the windows...
So I was thinking about installing a desktop environment on the host following this guide, and I'm wondering if it's possible to establish a VNC or some other type of connection into a VM from the host (not through the browser gui)? And if it is, is this the fastest connection to and from a VM...
Hi All, so I just bought a bunch of computer pieces, and before I open them up (making them non-refundable) I just wanted to double check here if anyone sees any potential problems with the components.

My original VM had 200 Gb of hdd space allocated to it. Then I ran the command `qm resize <vmid> <disk> <size>` to add 200 more Gb.
When I run `lsblk`, we can see the total space is indeed 400 Gb

So I'm trying to build a home server (using desktop components that don't support ECC RAM). I plan to have 1x 1TB Nvme SSD and 1x 2TB external USB HDD (already have one lying around).
From my understanding is that using non-ecc with zfs, if there is data corruption happening in memory, it will...
Hi, I'm trying to get my usb available inside my linux vm, but the vm does not see it.
When I plug in the usb, proxmox sees the usb device and I can 'add' it in the 'hardware' configuration. But when I run `lsblk` in my vm, I don't see the usb... I've tried selecting and de-selecting the usb-3...
Hello, I have a Linux Mint VM running `xrdp` as a server, and I'm connecting to it with my windows pc using RDP. I cannot seem to get audio working though.
I've tried setting my RDP audio settings to output to local but still no luck. In my VM the only audio options was 'dummy audio'.
Any ideas...
