I am seeing once every other second log entry in my PVE Node's FW/Log section. I don't ever recall seeing these in the past therefore want to believe this just started happening on this new server/Node.
Please see a screenshot of this dump - I have marked the screenshot w/ source/dest tag info...
hi Proxmox community,
First a disclaimer - I may be not fully understanding this and may be is an operator's fault.
I thought I'd share a weird Firewall behavior.
Summary of steps in my example:
DC Firewall enabled w/o ICMP rule
Node Firewall enabled w/ initially ALLOW / Enabled ICMP rule...
hi Proxmox community team,
I had originally posted this to this post - but, later realized it was marked as "solved". Therefore starting a new post w/ my scenario.
Summary:
Server is on 8.2.4, net new setup
Server is on LAN and has public facing web iface via nginx proxy and hostname (may not...
interesting - thanks.
a side question:
outside of the usual-suspect providers including GOOG's and MSFT's auth apps, I am hoping to try another OSS yet popular app. Any suggestions ?
I was thinking about Bitwarden's auth app - since I also selfhost their OSS PWM on my server.
hi Team,
In my env, I have 3 PVE servers and two of those have current 2FA setup and using MSFT Auth App for root@pam user.
While setting up 2FA on my 3rd server, I get the following error on my MSFT Auth App (see attached image).
I am confused as to why I had not seen this err when I was...
hi,
In my case I have a PVE with a static IP provisioned via my router. I'd like for the PVE to have its own private network w/ DHCP to provision for its hosted VMs.
Is this is doable, can someone point me to any docs on how-to please.
thanks
thank you for the link; Quite helpful and points me to the right way to config. I will take a look at moving the datastore to a local path and perhaps set an rsync to my unraid for redundancy.
hi everyone,
first a quick summary of my current env.
I have an instance of Proxmox Backup Server 3.2-6 running on a standalone DELL box - dashboard details of this below.
I have a CIFS mount point on this server pointing to a remote unraid server share. I have started to create a...
Well, I found this and have made the edit to my /etc/fstab - will give this a try and see if it fixes the issue.

hi,
I have been having some weird issue lately where my nightly scheduled backup job keep failing due to "dropped" remote share mount. The exact error is as follows:
INFO: HOOK: job-init
INFO: notified via target `[[[EMAIL ADDR]]]`
TASK ERROR: could not activate storage 'to.nas.2.hdc.bups'...
hi everyone,
I have a DC level backup of my node (I have one node in my DC at the moment). I see a ID=0 entry in the list of nodes to backup. I am not sure what this is for.
I deleted my backup job and recreated it one time before. The ID=0 went away until it reappeared 2 days ago.
Can...
I realize that this "hook" idea was originally suggested to clean up local hdd usage space. However, I have used this idea for additional "push notifications" before (phase=="backup-start"), and after backup ends (phase=="backup-end"). Works really well.
Thanks for the idea.
