Best practice to add new storage

Hello,

I'd like to extend our current ProxMox ( server storage, a new disks aggregate is already ready.

ProxMox version:
pve-manager/5.0-32/2560e073 (running kernel: 4.10.17-3-pve)

What recommend best practices, shall I create a new LVM volume group and thin-pool ?

The wiki page below describe parts of the setup but nothing about using new device.

1. creating a volume group
2. create a lvm-thin pool

but what type of storage you want depends on your requirements
