ZFS 0.8 new features in proxmox

@iBot thanks for your answer - how has your experience been so far using it? Possibly @fabian can shed some light on whether 0.8 is being consider for integration in a next Proxmox release?

so far if you setup pool / encryption / dataset via console and just using the pool as a pve zfs storage it will run smoothly. But things will get tricky if you going beyond this. Most of the drawbacks are replication and migration. The pve toolsets does not handle this, yet.

Fair enough, judging from the ZFS 0.7 release schedule from RC to final release (~10 months) I'm guessing it will be another year for sure before Proxmox will have this integrated. Oh well - something to look forward to :)

Currently the ZFS 0.7 branch still gets fixes backported (a few fixes got tagged to be included in 0.7.14 ) and there is little reason to make a major version-jump within one release.
