Hello proxmox community, it's my first thread here, and unfortunately it's an issue which i can't solve.

I've been running a regular debian server for a few years. This have worked for me fine for some time, but due to need to run linux + windows server next to it, and also my lab needs have grown a bit. I've decided to create new server machine.

CPU: 2x Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2699 v3
MOBO: Supermicro X10DRL-i
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 1050 Ti
RAM: 2x Samsung Supermicro 32GB 2Rx4 PC4 2400T-R M393A4K40BB1-CRC (64GB total - i'm planning to go bigger)
PSU: be quiet! Straight Power 11 850W 80 Plus Gold
SSD: 2x CT250MX500SSD1 (those were supposed to be RAID1 but had some troubles with installing debian on RAID, do not focus on this part please)
SSD: 1x CT500MX500SSD1 (currently debian installed here, i've gave up on raid1 for now)

I had no success trying to install proxmox on the server - installer would stop after selecting install type in grub.
I tried GUI, TUI, Serial installs - all have stopped at 'Loading initial ramdisk...'.
Modifying grub script with echo 'test message' after ramdisk, produced that as output, but system didn't moved further even after 8h (waited whole night).

I'm fighting with installation since a week, what have i already checked, and tried (tests with cli, were made from live debian 12.5.0:
  • memtest86 - passed
  • cpu and memory stress test using 'stress' - i had to get better PSU (had one without 2x 8pin mobo connector, now all plugs are connected) - voltages seems stable
  • smartctl on SSD's - all check passed
  • installing proxmox with additional grub parameters like: nomodeset, acpi=off, ignore_loglevel, removed splash - none changed any behavior, no more logs, just 'Loading initial ramdisk'
  • turning on/off different parameters in BIOS like: dual boot (uefi+legacy), CSM, secure boot, x2apic, quiet
  • removing gpu from pcie slot
  • installing older pve versions - back to pve 5.4-1, 6.4-1, 7.4-1

Today i had a breakthrough (after resetting bios to defaults, and using debian full installer (not the live usb or net-install) and have successfully installed debian 12.5.0 which works just fine. From this point i moved to installing proxmox on top of debian according to this wiki entry.

All steps from wiki before this works:
Bash:
apt install proxmox-default-kernel
systemctl reboot

After rebooting I'm able to select old kernel (through Advanced options for Debian GNU/Linux), and new one (attachment).

System boots fine, when using Linux 6.1.0-18-amd64 kernel, and from that point I was able to finish installation according to wiki, but - it's running on debian kernel, and all the packages were compiled with it, so I'm expecting troubles with proxmox updates based on wiki.
Both grub entries in attachments.

When Linux 6.8.4-3-pve kernel is selected (regular or recovery mode) system is being stuck at:
Bash:
Loading Linux 6.8.4-3-pve ...
Loading initial ramdisk ...

Any ideas what more could i check? Maybe some other grub parameters to pve kernel will produce any debug output? Are there any log files, which i could check what happens?
I've tried removing quiet, and adding ignore_loglevel already, and no additional output is given.

Thank you for any help,
