there is already user-friendly system for downloading and deployment of CT templates.
Why don't we have such thing for VMs as well?
I can imagine two levels of this.
1.) Some list of commonly used ISOs that proxmox would allow me to dowload without having to lookup the URL. (eg. Debian netinst ISOs, live-cds,...).
Proxmox can already download ISO by URL, so providing some textfile with list of such URL so user can select one to be downloaded seems as an easy task...
2.) Actual pre-installed VM templates ready to boot. They should reset ssh host keys after first boot...
