VM hängt nach Backup

Hallo,

leider hat eine der VMs das nächtliche Backup/Snapshot nicht überlebt.
CPU- und RAM-Auslastung bei 100%, keiner der Dienste ansprechbar, auch per Konsole in Proxmox nicht erreichbar.

Reset im Proxmox ohne Erfolg (Timeout), nur hartes Abschalten und erneutes booten der VM hat geholfen.

Ich verstehe das so, dass das Backup quasi fertig war, dann aber irgendwas schief gelaufen ist.

Der Fehler war vor 5-6 Wochen schon mal, nachdem das nun wiederholt mit gleichem Verhalten auftritt dachte ich mir ich frage mal nach... Evtl. kann man ja bessere Einstellungen setzen, um das zu umgehen, oder es ist ein bekannter Bug?

Ach ja: Ist eine Windows Server 2019 VM, falls das hilft

Ich verstehe das so, dass das Backup quasi fertig war, dann aber irgendwas schief gelaufen ist.

Der Fehler war vor 5-6 Wochen schon mal, nachdem das nun wiederholt mit gleichem Verhalten auftritt dachte ich mir ich frage mal nach... Evtl. kann man ja bessere Einstellungen setzen, um das zu umgehen, oder es ist ein bekannter Bug?

Ach ja: Ist eine Windows Server 2019 VM, falls das hilft

Also ich erhalte timeouts für fs-freeze. Ich habe in diesem Thema auch davon gelesen https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/e...guest-fsfreeze-thaw-failed-got-timeout.68082/ und hier heißt der Work-Around "disable qemu quest agent". Das habe ich nun mal gemacht und schaue morgen mal wie sich das Backup verhält.

Aber dennoch komisch, dass es "auf einmal" bzw. nach den letzten pve/pbs updates auftaucht.

Disable:
  1. Login to pve > Your Machine > Options > QEMU Quest Agent > Set to disabled

Lt. Webinterface kam der Fehler um 00:34:10, aber davor und danach steht schon der gleiche Kram drin - bis ich dann ca. 7:20 die VM "abgeschossen" und neu gestartet habe.

Nachdem zuletzt lange Ruhe war hab ich am Samstag das Update von 7.3-4 auf 7.3-6 eingespielt. In der Nacht darauf hat es direkt zwei VMs auf zwei getrennten Hosts gekillt

Kann es sein, dass nur VMs mit SATA-Disken betroffen sind? Was läuft innerhalb der betroffenen VMs?

Du könntest versuchen, auf SCSI umzustellen (für Windows, siehe hier: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Paravirtualized_Block_Drivers_for_Windows).

Vorher natürlich testen, ob Du ein funktionierendes Backup hast (mit anderer ID wiederherstellen). Insbesondere, weil es da einen weiteren Bug mit SATA (und vermutlich Backup) gibt, der sehr selten auftritt, aber einzelne Benutzer öfters zu betreffen scheint: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2874 Konnten wir allerdings noch nie nachstellen und es ist nicht klar, was ihn auslöst.
