I've testing proxmox for game server hosting.
I cant complain when using openvz.

But with qemu. ( Isn't ready to use, at least not for game servers)
A lot of hardware is wasted. The newer kernels fails too (Got some performances issue).

Windows 7 keep failing with udp packets/Sessions.
Games don't need high bandwidth, but an optimus latency with no chockes, jitter or packet loss.

When I test some games with win7 or 2008r2 or what ever with this new winsock I get connection lost.
Games Like Rfactor and Warband fails.

An easy way to test is hosting a rfactor server and connect to it, and it a minute it will disconnect you.

I tried all kind of settings.
The fix is to use an old winsock os like windows xp.

But I also need symblinks and only the newer windows got that.

as you can use openvz, did you test KVM with Linux? I assume no as you just write about windows.

virtio network for KVM linux guests is great.
