Working on migrating VMs from vSphere to ProxMox using Veeam B&R.

Setup:
Veeam B&R: 12.3.2.3617
ProxMox: PVE 9
Storage in ProxMox: ZFS pool RAW disk format

Veeam successfully establishes the connection to the ProxMox host and creates the worker node. I can ping the worker node, no problem, and testing worker node is successful. When I perform the restore: I can see ProxMox create the VM, then it is instantly destroyed.
Failure in Veeam: Failed to prepare disks for restore.

Checked ACL rules on our network devices and I do not see anything blocking traffic.

Has anyone else ran into this? From what I have read, it seems to be an issue between Veeam and PVE9, and that I should run PVE8.4 or earlier.
I am okay doing this on a temp box, as long as I can then Migrate the VMs from PVE8.4 to a different host running PVE9 using datacenter manager.

Thoughts? Thank you.

Hi @akjome ,

The most suitable place for your question would be Veeam Support, followed by the Veeam Forum, and finally here.

Until recently, Veeam was not compatible with PVE 9, which could cause the same type of error you’re reporting. Are you running the latest versions of all components?

Have you checked Veeam’s logs for more details?

I think Veeam 13 added support for PVE 9 2 or 3 weeks ago, but you have to update Veeam to v13 first and then update the PVE plugin to the newest version. Have not tested this myself ...
