Hi

I have only one Node and I do not have any replication scheduled / configured. However my log gets populated by relevant messages every minute. How I can turn it down ?

Mar 13 12:36:00 pve systemd[1]: Starting Proxmox VE replication runner...
Mar 13 12:36:00 pve systemd[1]: Started Proxmox VE replication runner.
Mar 13 12:37:00 pve systemd[1]: Starting Proxmox VE replication runner...

Also any idea how to set log rotation ?

Appreciate any comments

Hi,

you can turnoff the replication runner.

systemctl disable pvesr.timer

For time being I got it removed by using disable command.

Removed /etc/systemd/system/timers.target.wants/pvesr.timer.

Any side effects ? Why its enabled by default ?
There are no side effects.
Because this is the only way we can be sure it is running.

I don't know what the reactions were on this POC.
However, at design time, a daemon was rejected due to Perl's memory leak when it runs as a daemon.

Hello

Had the same issue with flood replication messages and disabled it also using the disable pvesr.timer command. But since I d like to know how things work and dont blindly follow advices and commands I d like a little more elaboration of what that service does?
Is it enabled by default no matter if the system has been setup in zfs or lvm fs? So is it running independent of the way proxmox has been setup ?
What exactly replicates from where to where?

Thank you in advance
