Upgrade Proxmox Ceph client ?

Hi,

I´m running Proxmox 4.1 with an external Ceph cluster, which I recently upgraded to 0.94.6. Is there a way of upgrading the Proxmox nodes to the same Ceph version without breaking anything ? I have a feeling it is a good idea to use the same version of Ceph on both the cluster side and the client side to benefit from the many improvements i later Ceph versions.

I stay with 0.94.5 on pve because my OSD-hosts are still wheezy (and for wheezy there isn't an upgrade to .6).

Hint: You have to restart VMs after upgrading ceph librbd. so that they use new lib, if you want so set tunables to jewel or optimal on your ceph cluster. If you have a HA cluster then a migration should also work as there a new KVM process is spawned afaik.

I can't set tunables to jewel because I need krbd for containers... so for now, I will set tunables to hammer until we get direction otherwise that krbd is supported at the jewel level

I have Proxmox updates to do on the nodes that run VMs so I'll update Ceph client software and Proxmox software and do a reboot because there's kernel updates in the latest round of updates ... this will get everything on to the new jewel rbd client
