I got some leftover servers from work and Im going to setup a small proxmox cluster
I need some tips and ideas how to best utilize the hardware
3x HP dl360 g9 2x16core, 128GB ddr4 ram, 8x300GB
1x HP dl380 g7 2x6 core, 288GB ddr3 ram, 2x300GB
I also got a old dell with 6x1tb that I though could be used as dedicated proxmox backup running raid6
All servers have raid cards not flashed in IT mode, so zfs isnt the best choice as base.
A cluster of these three HP serveres for one Ip address for mgmt, but what about storage? Just leave it be and rely on the backup server if something breaks.
Or should I try and setup ceph ? (never used ceph or any dist. storage for that matter)
Edit: I might be able to get another dl360 g9, total of 3!
