Thunderbolt stopped working after recent update?

Hello! Also struggling with a thunderbolt j5 create adapter, plugging into a thunderbolt. Just picked it up, starting to think I should have stuck with the older usb connectors when I picked up the adapter.

Slightly different symptoms than yours but maybe related. As far as I can tell, the thunderbolt controller is being detected but no sign of the ethernet adapter being noticed. Installed boltctl and that isn't showing anything. Never had to mess with thunderbolt on linux before, so maybe just missing something. thunderbolt driver is there, and I also installed r8152.

Version:
Code:
6.8.12-5-pve

*** edit ***
I was able to get it working by adding the following modules (first via modprobe and then added to /etc/modules-load.d/thunderbolt.conf and confirmed it worked on reboot):
  • thunderbolt
  • intel_wmi_thunderbolt
  • typec
This may not be related to the original question but wanted to update for anyone else digging, or maybe it is and this is something that changed between the kernel update.
