Been running proxmox on various servers for a couple of years now.
I recently just tried to upgrade my main server (Dell R320 with Intel E5-2440 0, 96gb) from proxmox 7 to 8, Upgrade when catastrophically wrong but that's not the proble here. However, because of this, I decided to do a completely fresh install.
Downloaded the latest ISO, flashed it, and got everything configured in order to start restoring VMS from backup
my problem now is the entire machine seems incredibly slow! The 12-thread CPU would rarely go above 50% utilization with my workload, however, simple things like restoring vms from backup and uploading ISOs would pin the CPU 100%.
Starting a pfsense vm would use 60%+ of CPU despite this vm very rarely making a noticeable difference previously.
Any ideas as to what's causing this unusually high usage, as I mentioned this is a fresh install of proxmox with very few changes.
thanks for your help
