Hi everyone,

I'm new to PROXMOX, and I'm trying to install a CT with Ubuntu 24.04.

I just installed PROXMOX in my server, and upgraded the CT templates with pveam update command (before that I cannot see Ubuntu 24.04 under system CT templates list, or the ones from Turnkey).

After that, I tried to create a CT based on Ubuntu 24.04 template, but I got this error message:

Is there any reported problems using Ubuntu 24.04 CT template? And in that case, is there any workaround for get it working?

I'm seeing the same error. I just upgraded to Proxmox 8.2.0, then tried to create a new CT with the Ubuntu 24.04 template.

I've just had the same behaviour. Interestingly, the template has been online since Saturday and I did my updates on Sunday night.
I guess the last update came later.

Still doesn't work. I have tried 5 different times now to create a CT using the Ubuntu 24.04 template. All I get is a blank screen that does not respond except for the cursor to move down. I can't even stop or power off the CT.

can confirm the same behaviour, even direct ssh to instance is not resdponding

I can confirm the same behavior as well. The only thing I did differently: I mounted an SSH KEY during the installation. I wanted to try it again later without it. However, when I read the posts here, I guess it won't be any different without SSH key.
So far, the image is black. I can move my cursor, but the image on the console remains black. If I change the console to "shell" then I can navigate, but it just doesn't seem to happen.
 
There is a fixed template available now via pveam: ubuntu-24.04-standard_24.04-2_amd64.tar.zst

Is this still the case? I've never been able to create a container in Ubuntu 24.04. I just removed the template I'd downloaded and redownloaded it (matching the file name) and I'm still receiving the same error

BTW, nothing new with apt update && apt dist-upgrade.
There are no documentation regarding a newer version.

I didn't change anything in the repo list. All default and installed with latest ISO.

I did already but I didn't recognize that I have to update source.list manually.
Updates are done to latest pve.

That is strange because in the past it worked out of the box without editing anything manually. With the same ISO.

Many thanks for the hint.

But for one node, after the update and a restart, the issue occurs that it can not retrieve a IP anymore automatically.
When using dhclient it is fine, but how to fix this?
