Suggestion: Customizable Proxmox Views

Hello,

I'm a fairly heavy Proxmox user, both in my homelab and in enterprise or mission critical environments. One thing I've been wondering about for a while is this:

Why isn't it possible to customize the "Server" menu? The four default options are not always relevant for every use case. Giving users the ability to create their own custom views would make the interface much more flexible.

The idea would be similar to the "Views" feature available in VMware vCenter, where users can organize and display resources in a way that best fits their workflow.

If you have other ideas or suggestions on how this feature could work, feel free to join the discussion.

Thanks in advance for your time!

Even if something similar to a customizable view feature were implemented, it would not necessarily be suitable for all use cases. For that reason, I think the priority for adding this feature may be relatively low.

That said, you can still submit it as a feature request. In that case, it would probably be best to file it in Bugzilla.

Note: I have not checked Bugzilla to see whether a similar request already exists.

As for similar features or possible alternatives available at this point, I understand them to be the following two options:

1. The dashboard feature in Proxmox Data Center
This is no longer part of Proxmox VE itself, but it is a feature that can be customized.

2. Creating a custom web frontend using the Proxmox VE API
Since this can be built according to your own specific use case, I believe it can satisfy virtually any use case.

In practice, my understanding is that people who are dissatisfied with the Proxmox VE GUI—not only with server menu customization, but also with areas such as permission settings—often choose the second approach and create their own custom UI.
