Howdy!
So, sliiightly weird one. I'm currently seeing thousands of DNS requests hitting my Unbound server, which is making it a bit sad with me. I'm seeing a lot of repeated DNS requests for the same (local) domain from the same client, which is a little odd since I'd expect the client to cache that address. On closer inspection, it looks like my Zabbix lxc container is the main culprit - this makes sense since I do reference a lot of the clients it monitors using DNS names.
This has popped up as an issue post-update earlier today, which is also when the new packages for managing IP addressing of LXC containers dropped - aadvark dns, I think? It almost looks from my point of view like DNS caching is just completely gone, and I'm not 100% sure where to start with troubleshooting it.
Edited update: On further research, if it IS aardvark-DNS, this open issue doesn't bode well as it related to DNS request caching.
