Hi!

I found some comments about using Snapshots (LVM or ZFS or GlusterFS ) in Storage causes disk performance degradation ( permanent slow I/O ),
but if you remove all the Snapshots, the performance is returning to normal.

Has anyone here had a similar experience?

Sure. A long time ago I used to use LVM (thick) - in a non-PVE context - and I remember very well the pain in this regard.

For ZFS there is no "snapshot-penalty" as ZFS is always Copy-on-Write. But it is interestingly enough that deleting a large amount of snapshots may slow down the system.

I have no reputable experience with GlusterFS. It is deprecated, and I won't waste energy...

Just my 2 €¢...
