Does the Video Streaming option under Spice Enhancement create the spice channel required?

I have tried enabling this option in Proxmox with both a Ubuntu and Fedora guest but neither one have an additional channel show under /dev/virtio-ports/ like I have had in the past when enabling under virt-manager or qemu.

When attempting to run the spice-streaming-agent on the guest, it complains that the channel does not exist.

the 'streaming video' option does not have anything to do with the streaming agent. it's just a setting for spice on how to detect videos and changing the encoding stream format (e.g it tries to better encode such things to reduce bandwidth)

there is currently no support for the streaming agent, but i think i would make a good addition, you can open a feature request here: https://bugzilla.proxmox.com
