Hi, I installed ProxMox VE on a HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen 8.
I tried all the possible configuration combinations of the Samsung EVO 860 ssd HDD but for example when I load an ISO image I can't get more than 11.5Mb/sec of transfer rate.
Tried in AHCI, Tried in RAID 0 but nothing to do.
It doesn't go more than 11.5Mb/sec.
Is it possible that this is the maximum speed?
Where am I wrong?
Thanks if anyone can help me because I don't know where to hit my head anymore!
Thank you
Zippi

I would benchmark the storage with fio and the network with iperf. Then you see where the bottleneck is.
Hi, thanks for the reply but I don't know how to do it.
Can I use my iMac against HP Gen 8 to do these tests?
How should I do?
I'm no expert, if you can help me thank you very much!

That is close to the USB 1.x maximum speed (12Mbit/sec) and also the maximum speed of 802.11b WiFi (11Mbit/sec). Are you using a USB network adapter or a WiFi network?
It's all connected via cable 1Gbps - UniFi switch

Does it actually sync with 1Gbit?
11.5 mb also could be an issue in cabeling and a 100Mbit connection

You are right!
I suspected it too, but since the connection worked, I thought maybe there was an incompatibility of the drivers with the network card, but it seemed too strange to me.
I checked and the led on the switch was orange at 100Mbit and not green at 1Gbit.
I thought I had a broken switch channel and instead it was simply a DAMN Cat 6 CABLE that works but only goes to 100Mbit !!!!!
Needless to say, I already burned it!

I apologize to all and thank you for your patience but not being an expert I was going crazy after all the tests (except one) I had done.
Thanks again everyone!

I got the same last month. 100mb run with 1 pair and on mine it was 1 of the side pin that wasn't crimp properly.. or wire not deep enought to make proper contact.
