Does anyone know of a basic LXC image that contains a web browser and not much else?

LXCs usually are headless, so no GUI/desktop to run a browser in. There are some ways (see for example here), but might be easier to just use a slim Live Linux VM for that.

With respect to that use case, I can recommend to have special "application docker containers", which only run one program over a passthrough X socket. LX(C) containers are too heavyweight (too much software installed) for that.
