Short downtime at live migration kvm

Hello,

i have a 2 node cluster with shared LVM on top of iSCSI.

If i migrate a KVM VM from one node to another i have a short downtime of the VM like 5-10 seconds where the machine doesn't respond to ping and the console freezes.

Is this normal or do i have to change some settings? I'm using latest Proxmox 2 with all packages updated.

thats normal. but you can set downtime to zero (edit conf file), but then migration probably never finish. to test, just play a video inside (randomly playing).

downtime also depends on your network speed and your settings (ram for VM).
