setup san fc storage as a backup device

Recently we have purchased a HP MSA 2060 FC which we are using it as main storage for VMs. However, we have another san fc storage which is dell powervault
MD3800f. we would like to know the best practice way to setup the dell storage as backup for the VMs. I just confused how to add a block type storage as backup device because the the only option available to format it as LVM.

I am a total newbie in this field and try to evaluate proxmox on our environment

You will need to manually partition, place a filesystem and mount the Dell storage. Then you can add a backup location and use it.

Another approach would be to use another machine that you've laying around as a backup server and add the FC storage there, so that it is completely separated from your PVE. The setup is the same as @bbgeek17 describes.
