Serious VM Crash, Newbie Help

Hi All,

So I've had a promos server running form OVH for about a month now, And today I started having some serious issues..

About 80% of my VMs are not Booting up..

My main priority at the moment is to get my main LXC up and running, Its loaded with Centos7

When I try to boot it I get the following error:

root@ns3070604:~# qm start 111
Configuration file 'nodes/ns3070604/qemu-server/111.conf' does not exist

Does anyone know what Is causing this?

I would really appreciate any help, I just hope I haven't lost all data from the server

Hi Oliver,
but VM 111 is an kvm-VM and not an LXC-container - qm is for kvm-vms!

Or you must use an container-command "pct start 111" - take a look here https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Linux_Container

Hi Udo,

Thanks for this! Ive ran that command and I now get the following output:

"Job for lxc@111.service failed because the control process exited with error code.

See "systemctl status lxc@111.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

command 'systemctl start lxc@111' failed: exit code 1"

How do I view these?

After running the Debug command I get the following output:

"volume 'local:100/vm-111-disk-1.raw' does not exist
lxc-start: conf.c: run_buffer: 464 Script exited with status 2.
lxc-start: start.c: lxc_init: 450 Failed to run lxc.hook.pre-start for container "111".
lxc-start: start.c: __lxc_start: 1337 Failed to initialize container "111".
lxc-start: tools/lxc_start.c: main: 366 The container failed to start.
lxc-start: tools/lxc_start.c: main: 370 Additional information can be obtained by setting the --logfile and --logpriority options."

Im really hoping that the volume can be recovered... Anyone able to help me with this? Its pretty critical

Its also very strange that somehow the volume has been removed? This definitely wasn't done manually

UPDATE:

So I can see that the Volume does exist:

"root@ns3070604:/var/lib/vz/images# pvesm path local:100/vm-111-disk-1.raw

/var/lib/vz/images/100/vm-111-disk-1.raw"


But when I look into that directory I do not see it listed? I only see another volume

"root@ns3070604:/var/lib/vz/images/100# ls

vm-100-disk-1.raw"

Ah I see!

And I really have no idea why its stored there.. I just ran the default promos "Create CT" and filled in the specs

Is there any support guys who I can give SSH access to and see if they can figure it out?

Im getting really desperate lol

try to help yourself!

Does the dir for ct 111 exsist?

ls -l /var/lib/vz/images/111

if yes - move the disk-image

mv /var/lib/vz/images/100/vm-111-disk-1.raw /var/lib/vz/images/111/

start the CT afterwards...
