Hello
I'm making this post to report an issue, there is a workaround and it is not really blocking, but could be annoying for someone, and it made me lose a few hours to "fix".
a fresh installation of PVE9 on a test machine, iso 9.0.1 (and also upgraded to 9.0.4 with the no subscription repo during my debugging session)
when booting on the updated ISO from MS, for those of us blessed with a volume license contract and have access to the updated iso, which includes the latest monthly patch, there is a UEFI error at boot on that ISO
when booting on the RTM Windows 2025 Iso ( SW_DVD9_Win_Server_STD_CORE_2025_24H2_64Bit_English_DC_STD_MLF_X23-81891.ISO ) on a vm with UEFI, TPM, q35, x86-64-v3 there are no issues. (that's the workaround)
example of a non working iso : SW_DVD9_Win_Server_STD_CORE_2025_24H2.11_64Bit_English_DC_STD_MLF_X24-14362.ISO (this one is from September 2025 and includes the september Rollup, I did checksum verification after uploading it, so apparently no issue of corruption)
I did try a lot of workaround I found on these forum and google, but to no avail, until I tried to boot on the RTM iso and the installer booted. I'm assuming they changed something in the keys of the secure boot/uefi, but I cannot explain why the RTM works and not the updated iso doesnt.
I can also confirm that installing the RTM and patching windows after does not break the boot of the VM.
the only thing I couldn't test is another test machine, the test pc is a mini-pc with an i3-n300 (ikoolcore R2), that may be the issue, if I can get my hand on another hardware i'll update that post.
(if anyone has this type of updated iso and no issue, then it's my test pc the problem)
