Hi everyone,

I’m trying to install Proxmox VE on a new workstation/server with the following setup:

Motherboard: ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SE
CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7965WX (24 cores)
RAM: 128 GB DDR5
Storage: 2x Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe + 2x WD Black SN770 1TB NVMe
IPMI/BMC enabled (ASMB11-iKVM)

I’ve tested both Proxmox VE 8.4 and 8.3, booting in UEFI mode with Secure Boot off and CSM disabled.
In all cases, the installer freezes at: "Waiting for /dev to be fully populated..."

I’ve also:
Disabled virtual media redirection in IPMI
Switched USB ports and devices
Tried both graphical and terminal installers
Flashed the ISOs in dd mode (not ISO mode)

The NVMe drives are correctly detected in BIOS, and I can boot other distros like Debian 12 without issues.

Has anyone successfully installed Proxmox on this motherboard or a similar WRX90/X670 board?
Is there a known kernel module or initrd issue affecting these chipsets?
Any help, tips, or kernel boot flags would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
