Proxmox VE 2.3 released!

no, the ram is not (yet) included. maybe we add this in future as an option.

hi and Thanks a lot for the new release... i simply cannot cope with all the new features....

i will like soon to upgrade my 2.1, and was looking at the download page
there, for each "release" download section i can find several "upgrade running" instructions like

http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Downloads#Update_a_running_Proxmox_Virtual_Environment_2.x_to_latest_2.3
http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Downloads#Update_a_running_Proxmox_Virtual_Environment_2.x_to_latest_2.2
http://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Downloads#Update_a_running_Proxmox_Virtual_Environment_2.x_to_latest_2.1

but i don't understand one thing: from those links it seems possible to "target" a specific releas while upgrading but if i follow the "2.x to 2.2" steps from my 2.1 TODAY, eg:
- check sources.list
- apt-get update -> check errors
- apt-get dist-upgrade
- reboot
- check for all packages
then pveversion -v would show me a 2.2 release or "always the latest", eg 2.3 today?

is it possible, advisable and correct to upgrade "in steps" eg 2.1 => 2.1 => 2.3
and if yes, how, in general?

Thanks, Marco

Thank you all many times for releasing another great PVE.

Could someone tell me, how to use this new (experimental) features. Snapshot on LVM, (Live Storage Migration), experimental virtio switches (vmid.conf) for more speed, etc.

Thanks and great work.

hostusb support ??

I've tried this utility, adding it to xxxx.conf and when staring machine I obtain:
Code:
vm 1000 - unable to parse value of 'hostusb' - unknown setting 'hostusb'
Same with qm set 1000 -hostusb xxxx:yyyy
Code:
Unknown option: hostusb
400 unable to parse option
qm set <vmid> [OPTIONS]

Is hostusb support removed ??

Thank you

what is our 'live block migration' feature? please use the same terms as we do, otherwise everybody is confused.

this is not implemented (yet).

Thank you for your work!

But my happiness was marred by the fact that after the update two of virtual machines don't starts - freenas (8.0.4) and pfsense (2.0.2). And more - I can't install it from zero point. In any time it fall to kernel trap 12.

All my other virtual machines - freebsd 9.0-9.1 (GENERIC) working perfectly.

Servers updated, no production down time.
Hey thanks for the new features i appreciate nfs kvm snapshot !
