I followed the upgrade process located on the downloads section of the wiki (unable to post link there):

however after running

Code:
apt update
apt dist-upgrade
reboot

without any failures on reboot the system has not changed any package versions. Am I missing something critical here?

The output after this process is as follows
Code:
proxmox-ve: 5.0-19 (running kernel: 4.10.17-2-pve)
pve-manager: 5.0-30 (running version: 5.0-30/5ab26bc)
pve-kernel-4.10.17-2-pve: 4.10.17-19
libpve-http-server-perl: 2.0-6

smartmontools: 6.5+svn4324-1
zfsutils-linux: 0.6.5.9-pve16~bpo90
ceph: 12.2.1-pve3

In addition both dist-upgrade and upgrade show no updates available.

The forum won't let me post the output of apt update or upgrade

Code:
apt-get dist-upgrade
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Calculating upgrade... Done
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

apt-get had the same results as apt

Should I be adding the no subscription library to update? Why is it not recommended in production servers?

hello i got serious problem when upgrading from 5.0 to 5.1...

i have

root@pve-klenova:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
#deb http://ftp.sk.debian.org/debian stretch main contrib
