Proxmox not starting from drive

I think I found where it is... /etc/apt/sources.list.d/webupd8team-java.list seems to have the ppa and launchpad in it. Should I just delete the .list file, or is the removal more technical than that?
 
What I have done is to comment out the repositories in that file.

Should this system be re-installed? And if I do, can the data be transfered to the new installed Proxmox for use there?

My issue is that I am trying to show our CFO that this would do fine in replacing several of our other boxes with this one.

I realize the problems happening are me and my knowledge base, but it would be great to have working in order for him to go forward with this.

Begging is all I have left....
