Hi,

i want to update from 4 to 5 this week.

Questions:

1) Can i use the backup function in the frontent also or must i use the way via putty described in the videos?

Please just follow the tutorial.

2) I received already end of Dezember a key, can i use it for the new server (i assume yes, but i want to make it clear)

Yes, but you can check the status on your shop account (or ask your reseller).

3) When Creating in VM Ware a new machine, shoud i use Debian GNU/Linux 7 64bit? or something else?

i need a help .i have just install the proxmox mail gateway .my proxmox have domain name.moreover i need to use as a proxy for my email server which is already running in production environment .i want to use proxmox as to control spamming and checking incoming and outgoing emails from my server (proxmox server).can any budy guide me how can i do this ??? looking your prompt response on it.

Ehm, read the manual? In ultrashort: Point your mx to PMG, enter your domain for PMG to handle, enter your host, where PMG should deliver the mail for incoming, change your mailserver to use PMG as relayhost with port 26 to send outgoing mails. Hi,

looks like basic misconfiguration, there seems to be a /24 address in mynetworks settings, maybe you entered /24, where you should net enter networks or you should enter 38.108.8.0/24 as recommended instead.

You may look the videos linked in the installation guide on how to setup and get first started.

P.S.: If you can't get further, a configuration dump would be helpful.

Hi,

please use the extra thread you opened on this issue, this thread announces the release of PMG 5.0

However, as readable in your log: You should not use anything with any number not null / 24 as that’s no valid network. Please use a CIDR tool to generate valid network definitions, 38.108.7.56/24 should be 38.108.7.0/24, next two entries are then obsolete, if you want to set only 38.108.7.55 and 51 use /32

Then first clean up your mynetworks setting as described above. You can also already read in your logs, that this settings are invalid and result therefor in errors.

error that you get from the receiving mail server is because there is no matching PTR record for your IP address.
