Good Morning Everyone,

I'm having a problem with my proxmox here since few weeks and i all over the Google and didnt find anything about this issue, would be glad if anyeone can help.

I have 1TB USB attached do my Server and there is a daily backup job running, before few weeks everything was done and ok but it stopped working.

i have an attached txt file there you can read the backup log file.

with the VM is locked cuz of backup, then the whole Server freeze and i cant access it from my web browser, i have to connect a monitor and restart the whole Server, then everything goes back to normal.

im doing the same thing everyday morning and it is frustrating.

Note: my proxmox version is: Virtual Environment 7.1-10

thanks you in advance for your help.

Hi,

could you provide the output of pveversion -v and journalctl -x? The output of df -h might also be helpful.

Thanks!

Hi,

following you will find the output data.

df -h:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
udev 63G 0 63G 0% /dev
tmpfs 13G 1.9M 13G 1% /run
rpool/ROOT/pve-1 1.1T 815G 263G 76% /
tmpfs 63G 43M 63G 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs 5.0M 0 5.0M 0% /run/lock
rpool 263G 128K 263G 1% /rpool
rpool/data 263G 128K 263G 1% /rpool/data
rpool/ROOT 263G 128K 263G 1% /rpool/ROOT
/dev/fuse 128M 20K 128M 1% /etc/pve
192.168.1.252:/volume1/proxmox 7.0T 2.8T 4.3T 39% /mnt/pve/data-nas
tmpfs 13G 0 13G 0% /run/user/0

The Journal file is a huge and long logs, should i copy all ?? :O
just for info, USB is not connected at the moment to the Server.

It would be helpfull if you could connect it and re-run df -h. Please place the code between

- tags so the formatting stays intact.

Either pipe the output to a file (journalctl -x > help.txt) and upload that file or just provide relevant seeming parts. You can also trim of older entries that happened before the issue occurred.

i found the problem,

the external Hard Drive is with exFat formated, which is 1TB, under the Backup options i was trying to keep daily - 2 backups and there was not enough space. i got 2x4TB external HDD and it works fine now.

one problem that i didnt understand is, why did my proxmox freezed when there was an error. i will make this Ticket as solved, lets see what will happen next.
