Guys,

I found interesting issue. I'm using NFS storage for Backup.
My Dump folder disappear if I have more than 19 files and find below ls out put.

root@pve50:/mnt/pve/nfs-nas/dump# pwd
/mnt/pve/nfs-nas/dump
root@pve50:/mnt/pve/nfs-nas/dump# ls
ls: reading directory '.': Input/output error

storage.cfg

nfs: nfs-nas
export /mnt/array1/proxmox
path /mnt/pve/nfs-nas
server 10.x.x.x
content vztmpl,images,backup,rootdir,iso
maxfiles 2
options vers=4

Package versions
proxmox-ve: 5.1-26 (running kernel: 4.13.4-1-pve) pve-manager: 5.1-36 (running version: 5.1-36/131401db)

I know you guys tell me to upgrade. Currently I'm running 22 Production VMs. I will not be able to upgrade now. I need to plan.

Is there any easy fix?

looks like a NFS issue? please tell more about your backup target (NFS server).

We are using Buffalo Terastation 1200 NAS for NFS.
I'm using User Mode.
Kernel Mode
doesn't work.
unable to activate storage 'nfs-nas' - directory '/mnt/pve/nfs-nas' does not exist or is unreachable (500)

I think you are right.

I tried with Package versions: proxmox-ve: 5.1-28 (running kernel: 4.13.8-2-pve) and proxmox-ve: 4.4-76 (running kernel: 4.4.35-1-pve)

If more than 19 files Dump folder disappear.

root@pve50:/mnt/pve/nfs-nas/dump# rpcinfo -p 10.x.x.30

Oh yes Buffalo. I had a very long ordeal with... We eliminate all this very .... buffalo's from us customer. In the day we changed to PVE and need NFS for backups we had a lot of troubles with that. NFS and Buffalo ist not really stable, not on the devices that we had... the only way for us was to use the SMB feature, that was working. So i can say. It is 100% not a PVE-Problem. We have about 45 Server+ running. All do there backup with NFS and without problems. But we use no buffalo, we use Backupserver with PVE or Ubuntu installed, or Qnap Professional.

What can you do? Activate Kernelmode, maybe NFS3 is working better, or use Samba.

Thank you fireon.
I'm using Synology in our other DC no issues.
I will replace Buffalo soon.
