I'm in the process of setting up my Homelab and currently have a working set up where new hosts are added into PowerDNS by Proxmox - that works well but I'm planning to integrate FreeIPA next to provide SSO and it seems FreeIPA likes to own DNS to work best.
I'm working through my options - but one possibility would be to replace the PowerDNS plugin in Proxmox with one that registers hosts in FreeIPA instead.
Does anyone know if such a plugin exists?
Or, failing that, can someone point me to where the PowerDNS plugin is implemented so I can have a crack at writing one?
