Hi,

Using Proxmox VE with HPE Alletra 5000 as storage: is it possible to configure Proxmox VE to enable high availability (HA) using HPE Alletra 5000 storage? our client plans to connect 30 nodes to the HPE Alletra 5000 with the HA feature.

Thank you

That's an external ha-storage (raid7 like raidz3) appliance which supprt iscsi and fc.

Cool that u do the job of power support.
Connecting block storage with HA is already discussed a lot here in the forum. So use the search to find your answer!

iscsi and fc.
Yes, you can use either protocol to present the LUNs across all hosts. Ideally, you will use multiple paths to storage and utilize Multipath package .
The primary, supported, option above Multipath is LVM. It is seamlessly integrated in PVE workflow but comes with a set of limitations identified here: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/Storage

Good luck

This is very interisting, please update on you progress .

i'm running this in test no :
3 x pve 9.1.9 hosts FC-connected / multipath / 8Gbit
2 x BN3600N /FC 32Gbit
2x Hpe Alletra 5000 / FC 32Gbit / 2 x LVM-thick storage
10Gbit network on host's on management nics and Shared nics for vlan.

Useing TrueNas virtual appliance ( NFS share ) for Veeam workers so we are able to backup windowsservers and as IsoPool/ images repo.

So far only thing we are "missing" is snapshot posibility on TPM state vm's , but nice to see that it is worked on:
https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7066

at this point it works fine with the vm's we have installed on for testing, snapshots and migrating works nice. realy looking forward to all the "new" stuff that probaly wil come. hopefully more on FC / LVM .. TrueNas has in Beta 26 Multi-Path I/O (MPIO) support added for Fibre Channel so i gues we will setup a "TrueNAS FC Gateway" to share NFS to PVE
