Proxmox Backup Server (beta)

It's a great product, I love it!

Question: I can backup easily Proxmox containers and vm's, but what is this 'host' meant to do? I this to backup for example a centos8 installation not running in Proxmox? Would be great to backup external servers not running Proxmox.

yes, host is the generic variant of ct ;) you can backup any (or even multiple) directory structures on a linux host, provided you get the client to run on it. currently Debian Buster works out of the box, there is an AUR repo for Archlinux and some community efforts to compile for various distros.
