Hi @ all,

I am asking myself when a server really needs a restart after a "apt update & apt upgrade & apt dist-upgrade"?

For example having a server with version
Code:
pve-manager/5.3-5/97ae681d (running kernel: 4.15.18-9-pve)

Ok sure if I upgrade the kernel to the newest "4.15.18-10-pve" I would have to reboot to use new kernel. But how about the other pve related updates?

Regards

kernel updades needs a reboot.

qemu updates need a stop/start of the VM or a live-migration.

Ok, so that means I would have to do a live migration to a second node, then update all, reboot and then migrate back.

This is exactly what I do actually. Though just there is maybe a better way.

Thx
