Yes, as I wrote before your problem is that omnios does not consider the user root on your proxmox to be allowed to act as the user root on omnios. Maybe something has been messed up on your omnios with all those changing owner and permissions on folders which needs a reboot. So you could try rebooting omnios but remember to close everything down on our proxmox servers which relies on an active omnios before you do it.

Before you reboot you should drop these lines in /etc/hosts:

127.0.0.1 omnitest
127.0.0.1 omnitest
127.0.0.1 omnitest
127.0.0.1 omnitest
127.0.0.1 omnitest
127.0.0.1 omnitest
127.0.0.1 omnitest
127.0.0.1 omnitest
 
I also wonder if you have ever been able to remount the share on your proxmox after changing permissions on omnios. Eg. are you still using the mount points with the old wrong permissions? If things have turned into a catch 22 then you will only be able to remount the share after all nfs daemons have been restarted so many it also requires a reboot of your proxmox server(s).
 
You no longer have to worry, it has been resolved.
This whole test production failed with a single drive OS, so I rebuilt system into production using a different subnet.
Upon installation, before linking Proxmox to the NFS datastore, I set the "no_root_squash" for the proper subnet. Everything worked without a problem. In actuality, everything worked beautifully in comparison to the XenServers I am transitioning out. I had a problem getting those to connect (had to connect from xenconsole).
Proxmox's setup was by far the easiest.
Proxmox is the Roku of the virtualization world.

I think I may write a wiki or do a video on NAS connection. Maybe one of you guys can post it to the Proxmox site
