I have a new install of Proxmox VE 4.1 rebooted and running fine. However there is no console login on the screen connected to the server by VGA and no response to the USB keyboard. I can SSH into the box no problem. I want a basic local terminal commandline because I'm customising the /etc/network/interfaces and experimenting with changing the IP address so I need the local access in case I lose network access.

Is it possible I'm not googling for the right terminology? local terminal, system console, default console?

Hi,
We do not disable the local Terminal.
There is something wrong with your box.
May be wrong Grafik settings?

Thanks, I see. Well that is a weird one. I guess it has something to do with the hardware not being proper server hardware. It's just an AMD dual core desktop chip system with on-board nvidia graphics. Is that likely to be the reason do you think? There are no changes to the graphics settings, I installed from the ISO so everything is as it is configured by the system. There are no unusual BIOS settings for the graphics, they are assigned 32MB.

Any ideas?

Hi
Do you the Grub Bootloader screen ? (just after the BIOS screen)
