Netware 6.5 SP8 as a guest in Proxmox

Hello,

I have been trying to run Netware 6.5 SP8 as a guest in Proxmox for a couple months, and I have had varying levels success. Sometimes making in past hardware checks and sometimes getting hung up on the graphical installer (but it has never completely installed). I know this is an old and commonly disliked operating system but it would be nice to virtualize.

**EDIT** I realized I didn't mention whats going wrong: after the partitioning of the disks, when the installer should start the graphical part of the install, it just hangs at the copying/expanding to disk screen.

you have tried the "Standard VGA" instead of "Cirrus"?

You installation is simply not complete, and I would use kernel 2.6.32 or newer.

Yes I have tried all the graphics modes, "standard vga" "default" and "cirrus" unfortunately none of them make a difference . I will try that new kernel tonight.

you are missing a package pve-qemu-kvm - please always follow update/upgrade guide:

Tried another combination of settings and got netware to install with KVM and ACPI disabled. The trick with the networking part of the install is to give it a non-valid IP address, go forward, then backwards, then open the advanced window, un-check IP and check IPX, then close that window and un-check IPX and check/fill out the IP settings! :O
Cant believe I figured that out!
