Mount and Claim Disks in GUI

Hello, all.

I'm a new Proxmox user and not the best at Linux. For my life, I can't figure out why I can't mount and claim the disks in the Proxmox GUI and Shell. I receive an input/output error when attempting to initialize the disks with GPT in the GUI. I tried to fdisk on the command line and received an error in that utility. Lastly, I attempted to make a directory and mount to fstab, but that didn't work. I'd greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide insight on how to get things working.

Thank you!

maybe your usb device not correctly disconnected from the last pc it was plugged on.
Try to disconnect him, reconnect to the last computer where it was, remount on them, and safely remove it.
If your USB device well disconnected but have a cable between him and the host, change the cable and retry

I'm attempting to claim and configure disks sda-sdj. I accidentally left my USB in the machine.
I reinstalled Proxmox and connected it to the internet so I could install GPARTED. Now, I'm receiving errors when using that utility as well.
To confirm, fdisk and sgdisk are giving me errors now. I also used the Dell Lifecycle Controller to delete data on the drives so they shouldn't have data on them.

error 5 on fdisk is really bad !
How this disks are used ? RAID controller backend ? If yes, many check from this before all:
- RAID controller connected to disk, assure your bios settings are configured on RAID.
- No controller raid, assure disabled RAID access for disks in bios too

In bios too, check if sata/ata ports used by disks are enabled, and not read -only

Good Afternoon!
Apologies for the delayed reply. I was out of town for work.
There is a RAID controller on the Dell R440 that I'm using, but it wasn't enabled.
Once I enable the RAID controller, I cannot see the disks and create virtual disks.

Is an old HDD ? If yers, maybe time to change it ^^

Proxmox over sensible on hdd life state, and cannot operate with faulted devices

They're not (manufactured in February 2020). I snagged the two R440s from a job, and they're in excellent condition—pretty much brand new.
Messing around this weekend, I installed Server 2016 and was able to reformat and map the drives. The drives didn't flag any errors.
Secondly, I installed TrueNAS on the server, and it could mount and RAID the drives without any issues.
This issue is so weird, and I'm banging my head against the wall trying to figure this out.
