Hi every body,

thas someone succed to install a md3200i with proxmox2 ?
I try now with proxmox2 as debian stop the update for lenny.

To many time to try to connect my hosts (10.04/proxmox1.9/proxmox2) at the md3200 so if someone succed with open-iscsi and multipath on squeeze for a dell storage like the md3200, It will be great.

thanks

Not with promxox 2.0, but no problem with 1.9.
And HP P2000 G3 iSCSI (very similar to MD 3220i) causes no trouble with proxmox 2.0 (RC1, waiting end of Q1 for 2.0 release!), multipath working fine.
Both with dual controler, quad ports, 1gbE.

Christophe.

can you describe your conf file and different step to install md3200i on proxmox 1.9.

Few months ago i try to install my md3200i on proxmox 1.9 but i never get it working.

Thanks for the request, I know now that I can hope something with this think, dell dont creat it just to fall me crazy.
I l appreciate conf file.
I bought the think (md3200) to replace my crossover cable between 2 proxmox1.9 with drbd/heartbeat. this was working fine.

I use 2 vlan on 2 switsh with 3 hosts. I will prepare a step by step post of the installation.

For instance I think the trouble is in the iqn of the hosts, I fix it in /etc/iscsi/initiatorname.isci (InitiatorName=iqn-proxmox1) as in the host in the target when I create the host.

It seems the hosts isn't recognise :

#iscsiadm -m node -p 192.168.49.1 -T iqn.1984-05.com.dell:powervault.md3200i.6782bcb0003dbc53000000004e2f3546 -l

Logging in to [iface: default, target: iqn.1984-05.com.dell:powervault.md3200i.6782bcb0003dbc53000000004e2f3546, portal: 192.168.49.1,3260]
Login to [iface: default, target: iqn.1984-05.com.dell:powervault.md3200i.6782bcb0003dbc53000000004e2f3546, portal: 192.168.49.1,3260]: successful

And then I can see the think

# tail -f /var/log/messages

Hi
On proxmox2 it works now from yesterday with the last kernel pve-kernel-2.6.32-10-pve: 2.6.32-63.

But already an error in multipath,

Hi,
looks like a "dead" disk (from previos testing?).
If you run a "lvs", do you get something like "/dev/dm-X not avaiable"?
Than you can look with "dmsetup info" - the device with the same minor-number is inaccessible and should be removed with "dmsetup remove DEVICE".

If all stalled devices removed, blkid should print the output quite fast.
