Hi I've installed proxmox VE 1.5, and I've 3 OpenVZ container on it that run without problem or pain...

By the way, yesterday I'll try to create two KVM guest one with debian net-install amd64 iso and one with the i386 net-install iso.

I'll create the vm with virtio option for disk and network, after save the vm, i'll change the boot sequence, that I want to start the cdrom for first device and the disk for second device... after that I'll start the machine and I'll click on the "openVNC console link"... but the windows didn't show me notinh on the panel I'll se that the machine start anch the cpu goes to 100%... so I've tried with amd64 and i386 with IDE controller and network driver like intel e1000 etc. etc. but the result is the same...

There is a bug in the kvm release in the 1.5 version of proxmox? Or (more probably) where I'm wrong?

This is my configuration:

works here. your version looks ok.

do not forget to do a shutdown if you changed the boot order or other changes, a reboot is not enough. also check your browser plugin (use sun-java6-plugin browser plugin).

Hi Tom!

I've attach some screenshot, I don't know why... but the things didn't start :S (The sun-java6-plugin is instalaled and works beacause in openvz container i can open vnc sesion in the java plugin).

The sequence is: schermata.png, schermata-1.png, schermata-2.png, schermata-3.png

This instalaltion of proxmox is started froma 1.3 release, and in the 1.5 I'll switch to the 2.6.18 kernel to have both OpenVz and KVM, but it didn't start KVM... :S

Best regards

Franco Tampieri

P.S. I've make a shotdown of the KVM guest after change the boot order sequence.

Hi udo! I've download the iso of netboot from the debian official site, is a netboot ISO. Here it is the KVM config:

name: XXX
ide2: local:iso/debian-505-amd64-netinst.iso,media=cdrom
vlan0: virtio=7E:EC:67:15:F6:C5
bootdisk: virtio0
virtio0: local:103/vm-103-disk-1.raw
ostype: other
memory: 512
onboot: 1
sockets: 1
boot: dc
freeze: 0
cpuunits: 1000
acpi: 1
kvm: 1

I can confirm this issue if you use Chromium. VNC console works for OpenVZ, but not for KVM - quite strange. => use Firefox.

The new GUI for Proxmox VE 2.x will work all chromium based browsers.

Thanx TOM!

Is True Chrome didn't start KVM... fuc... ehm ehm ok -> I'm turning back to the great firefox for proxmox kvm management...

Guys you're great!

Best regards

Franco Tampieri

just to mention, chrome on windows works. (more or less)

Gulp... no comment for this :p

If i think on the headhake in this days because Chrome didn't works correctly... grrrrrrrr
By the way it remains a great brand new browser... and Firefox remains the best for stability :)

Best regards

Franco Tampieri
