Kernelcare not available anymore?

Does anyone knows why it takes so long for Kernelcare to get available for latest Proxmox version?

Hi,

this is not something we (can) control in any way.
Have you tried asking the company/team behind Kernelcare directly about it?

CloudLinux who develop KernelCare and other products are very targeted in where they spend their development resources.

It is not the first time they have added support for software on their products only to quietly let all development efforts languish.

Raise a ticket with them and ask what the current status is, but have a plan if the answer is that they are not prioritising Proxmox.

For what it's worth: I have checked with TuxCare recently if there are any news on the compatibility with Proxmox 8. I got this answer:

We checked internally and there is still no ETA on the launch date for this. I'm afraid we are not yet able to provide additional information.

I am also interested in KernelCare. From their web site I see support for pve-8: KernelCare Patches
Does it mean Proxmox VE 8 is supported?

That's new, just a week ago, but good news, thank you. I use currently qemu-server 8.2.1 and newer, so they still lag behind Proxmox Enterprise repository. As soon as I have news from TuxCare, I will post FYI

Just had a talk with them, and they said they've dropped support for PVE9 since kernel sources are not "sometimes from Ubuntu, sometimes Debian, not stable enough for us to work with" and that "it really depends on the Proxmox team to stabilize their workflow"

our kernels have been based on Ubuntu's for the last ~10 years, never based on Debian's. we do of course sometimes need to cherry-pick additional patches on top (e.g. for security or bug fixes), but it's all available in our git repositories for inspection.

Proxmox just announced they dropped support for 6.17 (https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/kernel-6-17-end-of-support-after-july.185216/), keeping only 6.8 and 7.0.
It would be nice to have Kernelcare back at PVE 9.
