Kernel panic on new install

Hi guys, I have installed the latest release on a 2nd system that I would like to use as a backup.
Installation didn't go really smooth on the system itself so took the HDD out to install PVE with another system.
That went fine, move the HDD, changed the network config and was good to go.

Installed all updates, no VM's or LXC's yet.
The system crashes after a few hours idling and returns a Kernel Panic.

Can someone please give me any pointers on how to try to solve this?

Thanks a lot for any help!
Peter

The system crashes after a few hours idling and returns a Kernel Panic.
If you can get us more information on the kernel panic we might be able to help.

Do you see problems in the /var/log/syslog or /var/log/kern.log?

Have you tried a different kernel?
I had some kernels in the past which showed panics on boot, next version was fine again.
This also stroke me on Ubuntu based systems BTW...

Thanks for steppin in guys!
/var/log/kern.log is empty
this is the contents of /var/log/syslog
Code:

@tburger: do you mean a previous version of proxmox? I'm not that familiar with *nix.
