Hi Alex, it was 4.4.6-1-pve-advanced
gnulinux-4.4.6-1-pve-advanced-9cd84cbe-b93b-41d7-8bc2-c1b256562e99

that's not a PVE kernel release? where did you get this?

Wow.. I have to investigate.. I ave those repos:

deb http://ftp.it.debian.org/debian jessie main contrib

# security updates
deb http://security.debian.org jessie/updates main contrib

# Controller LSI Mega RAIS SAS
deb http://hwraid.le-vert.net/debian wheezy main

root@bluehub-dmrz-prox01:~# cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pve-nosub.list
# PVE pve-no-subscription repository provided by proxmox.com, NOT recommended for production use
deb http://download.proxmox.com/debian jessie pve-no-subscription

probably got from http://download.proxmox.com/debian .. no ather way I think..

"uname -r" should give you "4.4.6-1-pve", not "4.4.6-1-pve-advanced" - but note that the current kernel in no-subscription is "4.4.19-1-pve", so you should upgrade anyway.

Confirming issue. I updated testing proxmox node non-subscription today: 4.4.19-1 pve
after update boots going to fail to initramfs - cant find lvm root. Recovery mode from install usb used and after some reboots/updates it looks working now.

are you able to load logical volumes manually in the initramfs prompt? (type lvm lvscan)

Was hit by this problem again.

1] lvm lvscan -> 4 lvms listed, inactive
2] vgchange -ay -> 2 lvms active, 2 inactive - errors bellow

Code:
/sbin/modprobe failed: 1
Cannot read thin-pool target version.
Can't process LV data: thin-pool target support missing from kernel?
/sbin/modprobe failed: 1
Cannot read thin-pool target version.
Can't process LV vm-100-disk-1: thin-pool target support missing from kernel?
