How to make partitions on my 1 TB sata

Hello, I have purchased dedicated server, I have 1 TB SATA Disk, don't know how to make partitions for working with best proxmox performance.


Can any one guide me here please.

I have searched this forum but not got any clue.

I have only one disk, I am not talking about secondary disk.

there is no answer to this general questions, but you will find a lot threads about disks and partitioning.
questions like "I do not know for what but I want it best" are hard to answer.

read the docs in our wiki and this forum, if you have any 'specific' questions, ask again here.

Ok, let me explain, I have a dedicated server having 1 TB SATA disk, I want to use it for proxmox the question which I wanted to ask is that how much partitions do I need, how much of them will be primarey and how much extended partitions and which folders I need to create like root, swap etc and how much space should I allot to these partitions.
