I am new to Proxmox , i installed proxmox and then from web UI i mounted one disk wrongly as i mistakenly unchecked add storage checkbox. after that i tried to remove that drive using this guide :
https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/how-i-can-remove-directory-entry-from-gui.50006/
but had no success so i went for re installation , i reinstallated proxmox from usb drive but i was surprised that after re installation i had same drives mounted . i even tried that on my VMware workstation 15 and noticed same thing that after re installation drives were mounted. so how i can do fresh install so that i have everything in default state and i can mount drives again correctly

thanks

Your questions are a bit confusing, so thats probably the reason why no one answered.

A clean ISO install will clean your disks totally, but you write that this is not the case - which is impossible.

You need to provide more detailed info.
But free users do not get fast support.
This is a community help system. You need to wait until someone with specialised knowledge log in and read your post.
But what you can try is , if you still want to reinstall again, take the disks out and clear them on enouther machine with gdisk or fdisk. Dump the partition table. Do a DD with null on full disk.
Than try to reinstall. Should solve the issue. Especially if you are using zfs.

ok thanks for reply , ya i have requested friend to manually format the disk and then reinstall proxmox on it , as the server is away from me so i had to wait so that he can manually do it . but i tried this inside my workstation too . i will make youtube video on it , so that its fixed or i get solution of it .

thanks

Good to hear it. The install should do that for you but some times and specially with zfs it does not do a good job.

so here is youtube video link please review : https://youtu.be/jgeW37aqs9Y

thanks a lot

You just use the first HDD on your Proxmox VE ISO install. If you do not select the other HDDs, the installer will not touch them.

In order to remove the partitons, use a shell/CLI and remove the partitions:

e.g. for /dev/sdb

> gdisk /dev/sdb

remove the partitions and you can use them again via GUI
