I have a very basic PVE running on a Intel 9th 64 with 32GB Ram and 250GB SSD. No clusters, no Cifs, no NFS, no samba.
It runs 2 Linux VM, 8 lxc, plus 1 lxc with 12 Docker.

Everything has been very smooth for almost 1 year, but I few weeks ago I learned I can't access the Options page of the Datacenter section. I don't even remember what's there.

If I click it, the right frame doesn't load, stays empty and every option I try is kinda broken. It's solved by a simple page reload (F5). I get the entire GUI working again but the Datacenter/Options.

I've been experimenting a lot with it, although I have some important personal files there, so I don't know what I tried that broke it.

Is there a way to force the reinstallation of just the GUI to be sure isn't just a matter of corrupted html files?

If you have any suggestion of log, I'll be please to provide.

By the way, can someone post a screenshot of that page?

Hi @oiler, welcome to the forum.

When dealing with issues in a browser-based application, the first place to look is the browser's Developer Tools - the Console tab.

Many GUI-related problems can be traced back to users running “helpful” scripts they found online.

That said, a quick search for "proxmox gui reinstall" turned up this thread, which seems to answer your question :

Cheers!

Thank you very much!

I wasn't able to diagnose the issue from the browser console, so I decided to try the quoted solution—and it worked!

Something was seriously broken, as the first page load took a few seconds, making me think it hadn't worked. It was probably populating a table or updating a cache.

To forcefully reinstall the web GUI interface:
Bash:
apt install --reinstall pve-manager proxmox-widget-toolkit libjs-extjs
