Emails for updates "New software packages available"

Currently I'm receiving emails for available updates with the subject "New software packages available (hostXX.local.xxx)". I have a couple of questions about this one:

1. How does the system decide to which email address the updatemails have to go to?
2. Looks like those mails are on a daily scheduler. Is it possible to change it to weekly?
3. Is it possible to disable those mails?
 
If you paid for a subscription and entered it in your Proxmox host, it will check for updates and e-mail the root user. I don't think there is a way to turn that off if I remember a thread on this from over a year ago correctly.

Okay, I now outed myself for never having a subscription so far. :oops: But good to know, thanks for the info. :)
 
you just can delete your email-adress from the root-user-settings under permissions/user. probably you don't get these emails anymore.

my own question would be: is it possible to enter two (or more) email-adresses for getting these emails? (and how is the "syntax"?)

The backup jobs can have multiple emails comma seperated. However, I do not think that a user (e.g. root) can have multiple email addresses.
 
Same here, we're now getting mails from our PBS, like:

From: Proxmox Backup Server - backup01 <root@(snip)> Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2022 01:26:20 +0200 Subject: New software packages available (backup01)

Since we're using unattended-upgrades and also have security update checks in our monitoring, I'd appreciate if there could be a setting to enable/disable such mails, without having to remove the mail address from the root user in /etc/proxmox-backup/user.cfg. :)

Hi, please yes if you have fixe for stop PBS to spam for Update that would be great.

PBS packages with version 2.2.7-1 just got built and should make its way through the public repos once internal testing is finished.
